Inspired by mens vintage motorsports, ‘The Bugatti Boys’ embodies a need for speed, adrenaline and excitement through classic silhouettes, innovative pattern cutting and considered details. The collection delves into the history of the world’s first purpose build racetrack and reflects the rich heritage Brooklands Museum represents. Focusing on the 1920s, the collections central themes of modernity and change, post world war one, bring to light the importance of motorsports for men coming back from war at this pivotal moment in history, and the heritage that still reminisces with us today. People craved newness and began living in the moment after experiencing war and strived to live their lives to the fullest, whether it be long or short. There was no longer the worry about the fragility of human life as people had lived through such horrors, only the desire for dangerous living instead of peaceful existence. I wanted to replicate the nostalgic feeling and excitement of when motoring became more than just a recreational activity and was born as a competitive sport.
